


Computer Aided Design modelling of prosthetic device
The goal of the project is to deliver computer aided design (CAD) models of Vessl's prosthetic socket design to de-risk aspects of the design and virtually test out different solutions. These designs will also be helpful in conducting product validation with end users and customers. The outcomes will be: 1) CAD models of the proposed design.

Regulatory Environment for Prosthetics in the European Union
The goal of the project is to create a summary document on the needs and requirements for regulatory approval in the European Union within the field of prosthetics and orthotics. The outcomes will be: · Reimbursement pathway for prosthetic sockets in the EU including, but not limited to: codes used for prosthetic sockets in the EU, regional coverage policies and limitations to claims, claim parameters for EU reimbursement (eligibility criteria such as manufacturing, materials, production location), reimbursement timelines. · Identification of reimbursement codes used for prosthetic sockets · Identification of required ISO standards that are used for socket manufacturing

Website development for start-up
The goal of the project is to deliver a single-page design website for a new start-up company to provide potential customers with information on product development, company trajectory, and outreach strategies. The outcomes will be: · A scrolling single-page style website that is viewable from all devices ranging from cellphones to desktops. · Parallax implementation of some visuals to facilitate demonstration of product and company (visuals can be provided by us, or co-developed with students) · Pages that need to be visually formatted and developed include: o Company o Product o Team o Contact · Implementation of counters to display counts of company affiliations, fundraising, and projections · Student will be assisted with visual layout of the website, but will be asked to write and implement necessary html, php, css, and/or javascript code at their discretion. The final deliverable will be a coded website that will replace the current version on vesslpro.com

Qualitative data analysis of target market
The goal of the project is to deliver an in-depth data analysis of prosthetic socket users to identify the prevalence of the key pain point Vessl proposes to solve and the importance of the proposed solution. The outcomes will be: 1) A presentation to company founders outlining major research findings, trends in issues faced by lower limb amputees and how those issues are addressed, as well as wishes and aspirations of amputees. 2) Supporting Excel file containing in-depth summaries and resources including: i. Demographics ii. Source of information iii. Current problems (prevalence and severity) iv. Current methods by which problems are addressed and the effectiveness of those solutions v. “Wish lists”; what key things or themes are amputees hoping for? Example questions to ask yourself: 1. What are the major pain points amputees face? 2. How many amputees are facing these problems? 3. What are the consequences of these problems? 4. What are amputees currently doing to fix these problems?

Competitive Analysis for Medical Device Start-Up - Vessl Prosthetics
