Let's Talk
Let's Talk
Mamaroneck, New York, United States
Description

The world is more divided than ever. Political Polarization is the 2nd biggest worry for Americans, behind inflation and on par with crime and gun violence. We have a crisis in trust; only 37% believe most people can be trusted, meaning 63% don't think people can be trusted. Furthermore, 65% of people believe the lack of civility and mutual respect is the worst they've ever seen. These forces are poisoning our relationships and putting democracy in peril. However, most people want to move beyond these divisions. And that's why we created Let's Talk.

Let's Talk is a mobile application that fosters honest, 1:1, safe conversations on difficult topics to deepen understanding and human connection and decrease Polarization.
Let's Talk helps decrease Polarization and increase trust and cooperation among people with different perspectives. Listening to another person's point of view involves actively engaging with their ideas and attitudes rather than simply dismissing or disregarding them. Doing so, we better understand where the other person is coming from and why they hold certain beliefs or opinions. This understanding can increase respect for the other person, as we recognize that their views are not necessarily "wrong" or "bad" but simply different from our own. Mutual respect and civility can lead to greater trust between individuals. When we feel respected and heard, we are more likely to trust and cooperate with others and work together towards common goals and solutions.
