Students will work with Statistics Canada data and company photos o design and share posts that highlight services, key insights, promote data literacy, and encourage community participation in surveys and data-driven discussions.
What Are Students Expected to Complete?
- Content Strategy
- Develop a content plan aligned with the themes of the census data project.
- Identify target audiences and appropriate platforms (e.g., Instagram, X/Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn).
- Content Creation
- Design engaging posts, infographics, and short videos using tools like Canva, Adobe Express, or CapCut.
- Translate complex data into accessible and visually appealing content.
- Campaign Management
- Schedule and publish posts regularly.
- Promote the student-led survey and dashboard to increase visibility and participation.
- Community Engagement
- Monitor comments and messages to answer questions and encourage discussion.
- Use polls, stories, and hashtags to boost interaction.
- Analytics and Reporting
- Track engagement metrics (likes, shares, comments, reach).
- Reflect on what content performed best and why.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with the data analysis team to ensure accuracy and consistency in messaging.
- Present a final report or portfolio showcasing the campaign’s impact.
