This package should include the top perks and benefits that will help in achieving the company's mission and strategy of operational excellence through focusing on quality, empowering employees, and optimizing opportunities.
This will involve several different steps for the students, including:
- Conducting research on industry standards for compensation packages and benefits.
- Analyzing the current compensation and benefits structure at Southland Trailer Corp.
- Identifying the top perks and benefits that are most valued by employees in the manufacturing industry.
- Developing a unique compensation package tailored to the needs and goals of Southland Trailer Corp.
- Creating a presentation to effectively communicate the proposed compensation package to the company's leadership team.
By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities:
- A comprehensive report detailing the research findings, analysis of current compensation structure, and the proposed unique compensation package.
- A presentation outlining the top perks and benefits included in the proposed compensation package, along with the rationale behind each component.
- Recommendations for implementing the new compensation package and strategies for employee engagement.
Final deliverables:
- A final report including the research findings, analysis, proposed compensation package, and implementation recommendations.
- A professional presentation deck with visuals and key points to effectively communicate the proposed compensation package to the company's leadership team.
We will provide a video or phone call as needed. As well as being accessible by email. We will provide any additional documentation as needed.

Southland Trailer Corp. manufactures trailer transportation products. We have three brands and produce up to nine different trailer types from dump, and flat deck, to gravel trailers and car/toy haulers. The company was started in 1980 and has grown to be one of the largest light industrial trailer manufacturers in Canada. It is still a private family owned business.
From the philosophy of lean manufacturing we train all our employees about continuous improvement, and how to view problems with a different approach, and empower them to make changes and solution to improving everything they interact with. This creates a culture of continuous improvement and allows everyone to be engaged in the business and as a collective team we are all empowered to improve our day-to-day.
